Description
The purpose of this project is to conduct a Collection Contition Survey of the painted object collection of Hampton National Historic Site, through technical consultation with a qualified painting conservator ( as defined by American Institute for Conservation -- A.I.C. -- guidelines). The survey will include examiination of the objects and assessment of condition and treatment needs. hte survey will provide a systematic approch to the care and preservation of the painted objects in Hampton NHS museum collection, to guide and promote long term stewardship. There are more than 300 objects to be assessed, including approximately: Two Hundered and Fifty (250) painting ) oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, etc.), Fourty Five (45) pieces of painted furniture, and Twenty (20) decorative objeccts. The contractor may use a sepereate database to enter condition survey in formation, but it shall be compatible with ANCS+.
