Description

The Industrial Multimedia Branch, Sustainable Technology Division of the National Risk Management Research Laboratory/ ORD/ USEPA intends to negotiate a sole-source basis contract with Integrated Process Technologies for research services to produce data on an advanced proprietary process to enable evaluation of its potential for application in commercial recovery of metal values from acid mine drainage. This new device is based on a design that permits close control of the precipitation reaction and the resultant formation of nucleate particles and production of very small particles of a very tight particle size range. This procurement is a sole source exception re: EPAFAR 6.302.1 based on the fact that the device is of a novel and unique design not heretofore practiced or divulged in the literature. Because the device is unique and proprietary at this time, there is only one source available. The NAICS code is 541710.
