Description

The U.S. Army CECOM -- Washington intends to award a sole source purchase order to Monarch Lathes, LP, Sidney, Ohio to rebuild two Monarch Lathes 10" x 20" CD. EE toolmakers lathe, Serial NO. EE-48374 or 48376. The Lathe will undergo a complete electrical system replacement, consisting of the following new equipment mounted in the base of the lathe in place of the original equipment; 7.5 H.P. AC inverter motor, Motor mounted 5:1 backgear unit, Drive motor mounting plate, Monarch 7.5 H.P. AC variable frequency solid state drive, Fused disconnect switch, Coolant pump motor starter (if required), Operator control station -- start/stop/coolant, Electrical conduit and wiring. All work is to be performed under an anticipated fixed price purchase order. Period of performance will be approximately 120 days from the date of award. Award will be made IAW Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. However, all responsible sources that can provide supporting data to demonstrate they can successfully provide the above a required effort may submit a quote that shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must possess technical expertise and/or experience rebuilding Monarch Lathes. Responses should be no longer than two (2) pages. Responses are to be received via email by close of business 20 June 2001. All requests for further information must be in writing or via email, telephone requests for additional information will not be honored.
