Description

Blue Ridge Precommerical Thinning and Slash Treatment -- Work includes thinning of ponderosa pine trees to a 15 x 15 foot spacing or 3 feet between crowns, whichever is greater. Trees up to 9 inches in diameter breast height will be cut. Slash will be lopped below 2 feet, except areas adjacent to private land which will be piled. The project area may be reached by traveling east on State Highway 87 from the Blue Ridge Ranger Station. The area extends for almost six miles along the south side of the highway from Forest Road 95 to Forest Road 319. The contract time is 300 calendar days. Price Range is between $25,000 and $100,000.
