Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National = Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has a requirement for = young worker occupational safety and health core curriculum skill base = development. In response to social, technological, and economic = changes the education of the workforce of the future is being = reevaluated with education focusing on work-bound youth and an emphasis = on practical skills necessary to serve labor needs of contemporary = society. Occupational safety and health knowledge and skill are = considered a part of functional, enabling, and trade foundational = skills. Young workers are particularly vulnerable and the potential to = reduce injuries through pre-service work training is great. This = project will develop core occupational safety and health curriculum for = new and young workers and support training intervention effectiveness = research to reduce injury and illness. Request for Proposal No. = 2001-N-08016 will be issued on an unrestricted basis to full and open = competition. The solicitation will be issued on or about June 22, 2001 = and proposals will be due on or about July 23, 2001.
