Description

NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a Horizontal Vibration Sytem for its Vibration Acoustic Test Facility at the Johnson Space Center. This system will consist of an air-cooled power amplifier, chilled water-cooled shaker, and an IsoBase horizontal slip table. The system will provide capability for the shaker to be disconnected from the slip table and rotated for vertical use. In addition to providing power for the new slip table shaker, the amplifier will be switchable to provide power to the existing Ling A249 shaker. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 334516 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-25. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFQ is on or about June 15, 2001, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about June 22, 2001. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
