Description

This acquisition is for contractor support to develop, construct, modify, and deliver three-dimensional ship computer models of U.S. Navy ships and limited foreign Navy ships. Construction of the ship computer models and modifications shall be in accordance with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Ship Modeling Standards. The contractor shall assist in the analysis and design of Pointing and Firing Cut Out (P&FCO) zones using the ship computer models and computer-aided design (CAD) analysis tools. The contractor shall provide CAD systems administration support; development and/or modification of CAD automated analysis tools and the generation of CAD documentation. In addition, the contractor shall develop and revise Naval Sea Systems Command drawings, including blockage diagrams and grid charts, for documenting P&FCO zones for weapons systems aboard U.S. Navy and limited foreign Navy ships. Support under the resultant contract requires the furnishing of approximately two man-years of support annually in the CAD Operator and CAD Analyst/Drawing Specialist labor categories. This acquisition has a five-year performance period beginning 01 November 2001 or the date of award whichever is later. Performance will be at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. The solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis and all responsible parties may submit a proposal which will be considered. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory Procurement Division has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the acquisition area, therefore synopsis and resulting solicitation with any applicable amendments will be available on the World Wide Web at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/supply.
