It is a = multi-dimensional, structured nomenclature for electronically coding = medical records including the pathology reports and is trademarked to = the College of American Pathologists. Its medical terms are placed = within natural hierarchies and categorized. The terminology covers = diseases, clinical findings, etiologies, therapies, procedures and = otcomes.SnoMed technology is already in use at the CDC. To be = effective from 08/01/2001 through 07/31/2002. This announcement = constitutes the only solicitation. Simplified Acquisition procedures = will be utilized and an oral quotation will be solicited on or about = May 24, 2001. Other than full and open competition is authorized = pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Qualified vendors have 15 days from = the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating = their ability to provide these software upgrades and services. Such = qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining = whether or not to conduct this procurement of a full and open = competition basis. No solicitation exists
