Description

Project consists of performing cultural resources surveys on portions of the Cassville Unit of the Mark Twain National Forest, Barry County, MO. The objectives of the project will be to: (1) Identify and record all prehistoric, protohistoric, and historic properties, isolated finds and features within the project areas; and (2) Prepare a scientific report of the study following the outline presented in Section 224 of specifications. The report(s) resulting from this survey will be used for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended). A primary objective of the survey, therefore, is to determine if there are properties within the project area that appear to meet the criteria for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (36 CFR 60.6). Award will be made in aggregate to one Offeror. Limited funds are available for this project and may require a reduction in the number of Compartments awarded. If all Compartments are not awarded, they will be deleted starting with the last Compartment listed on the Bid Schedule and work backwards until an award can be made within the limits of available funding. Contract is estimated to be awarded August 15, 2001, field work to be done 9/1/01 through 12/31/01, draft report due 6/1/02, and final acceptance done by 7/1/02. Offerors will be required to respond to evaluation criteria as listed in Section M of the solicitation. This project is set aside for small business concerns.
