- Description
- The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), to include the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO), the Computational and Information Sciences Directorate, the Human Research and Engineering Directorate, the Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate, the Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate, the Vehicle Technology Directorate, and the Weapons and Materials Research Directorate, annually announces a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) No. DAAD19-00-R-0010 for the period July 2000 through fiscal year 2003 under the provisions of paragraph 35.016(c) of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. This BAA covers research interests of the above named technical Directorates as well as the following: Chemistry, Electronics, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Materials Science, Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Mechanical Sciences, and Physics. Special ARO programs include: Short Term Innovative Research Program, Young Investigator Program, Research Instrumentation, and Augmentation Awards for Science and Engineering Research Training. The ARO invites proposals aimed at enhancement of research in the area of "Biomolecular and Cellular Materials and Processes" with an emphasis on biomimetic self-assembly processes, hierarchical structure formation, and nanometer scale fabrication, as described in the BAA. The final date that proposals may be submitted under this BAA is 30 September 2003. In keeping with the requirements of the Secretary of Defense's paperless contracting initiative, a minimal number of hardcopies will be available and will not be distributed on a routine basis.
