Description
The Air Armament Center (AAC),46TH Test Wing, Eglin AFB, FL, = intends to solicit, negotiate if necessary and award a sole source = firm-fixed price contract to Scientific Instruments and technology = Corporation, 470 Route 9, Englishtown, NJ 07726 for a Spray Dryer. = This award will be made under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) = Part 12, Commercial Acquisition. This is notification to interested = parties. The solicitation number for this announcement is = F08651-01-T-0036.The spray dryer is used to produce sub-micron size = flowing powders. It must produce rapid results from aqueous emulsions, = solutions, suspensions and colloids. A wide distribution of particle = sizes is necessary. The unit must be easy to clean and simple to = assemble and breakdown. The evaporation rate of water at an inlet = temperature of 250 degree C must be a minimum of 1500 ml/hr. Air inlet = temperature must be a variable between 40 degree C to in excess of 250 = degree C. The drying air throughput must be a variable from 38 to 73 = m3/hr. The heater capacity needed is 3kWand. The compressor must meet = the following specs: 1.4m3/hr @1.0bar to 0.25m3/hr @ 4bar. the flow = rate needs to be controlled by peristaltic pump with a flow rate that = is variable up to 65 ml/min. The jet de-blocking system needs an = integral 3 bar compressed air supply with a variable de-blocking = plunger frequency. The spray system should consist of two liquid = nozzles with standard 0.5mm jets and options for larger diameters. = Spray and hot air flow need to be downward co-current. The dimensions = of the dryer need to be approximately 1050x620x500mm and the net weight = should be approximately 73kg, 117kg packed.
