- Description
- EMBANKMENT REPAIR AT LOCK AND DAM NOS. 2, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8, 9 AND 10 ON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. Work consists of, but is not limited to, providing all plant, labor, equipment and materials necessary to repair erosion damage on Corps of Engineer earth embankments along the Mississippi River. Work will generally consist of debris removal, excavation, clearing and grubbing, and placement of sand, aggregate, bedding and riprap, articulating concrete block, geotextile fabric, topsoil and seed. It is anticipated that one or more firm, fixed price contract awards may be made as a result of this announcement. Bidders are advised that work will be divided by each lock and dam site and it is not a requirement to bid on every site. Bidders are also advised that contract award(s) are subject to availability of funds. This procurement is issued for full and open competition utilizing sealed bid procedures. The North Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) is 234990 with a small business size standard of $27.5 Million. In the event a selected bid(s) exceeds $1,000,000 and is from a large business, it will be necessary for that firm to submit a subcontracting plan that is acceptable to the Government prior to award. The estimated magnitude of construction in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range is between $1 Million and $5 Million for work at each Lock and Dam Nos. 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10; and $5 Million and $10 Million for work at each Lock and Dam Nos. 5, 5A, and 8. It is anticipated that the Invitation for Bid (IFB) DACW37-01-B-0015 will be posted to the US Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District World Wide Web Site at http://mvpwww.mvp.usace.army.mil/ebs/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp approximately 20 June 2001, with a bid opening occurring on or about 20 July 2001. The official solicitation is available only in CD-ROM format. Ordering of the CD-ROM shall be made by registering for it at the above web site. There is no charge for the CD. CDs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Telephone requests not accepted.
