Description

The US Geological Survey is interested in chartering a seaworthy vessel for a minimum of 32 days and a maximum of 40 days, beginning on 25 June 2001. The area of operation will be Glacier Bay, Icy Strait and Cross Sound, and the cruise will originate and end in Gustavus, Alaska. The vessel will provide transportation and support for up to eight people (not including crew) working on a USGS research project. Vessel suitability as determined by a USGS project leader/inspector would be a main factor in selecting the contract vessel. Boat must have an Oceanographic ResearchVessel designation (ORV). To confirm the boat meets licensing, safety and ORV requirements, please contact U.S. Coast Guard office in Juneau, Alaska at (907) 463-2465. All boat operator's quoting is subject the requirements of the Service Contract Act and require payment to employees in accordance with the Department of Labor. Please include copies of boat operators' license, proof of insurance and ORV (prior to departure for the ORV destination along with the quote. This requirement will utilize Department of Interior Electronic Commerce Opportunities Web Page at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The posted RFQ (01WRQQ0070) contains the specifications and requirements that will be needed for this solicitation. A written solicitation will not be issued. General information on procedures and vendor registration requirements are available at the website cited. The solicitation is to be issued electronically on or about 08 June 01. Interested parties should go to the previously cited website to obtain copies of the solicitation (01WRQQ0070) and to be submitted NLT 15 June.
