Description
Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), Management and Operating Contractor for the U. S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) located near Aiken, SC, is seeking expressions of interest and capability from qualified subcontractors for glass and physical property measurements on glass frit for Savannah River Site. The services include analyses of the major components of the frit, analysis of the individual impurity levels, and physical property measurements including loss on drying (LOD), loss on ignition (LOI), and particle size distribution. Analyses required include inductively coupled plasma (ICP), atomic absorption, and emission spectrographic analyses, or equivalent, and sieve analyses. Competency is to be demonstrated by conducting the required analyses with low standard deviations for multiple analyses of the same sample or for multiple samples of the same frit types. An NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program is desirable, but other nationally recognized quality program standards implementations will be considered. Parties submitting their expression of interest/capability must include examples of similar or related past performance experience, with point of contact names and phone numbers. Expressions of interest and capability must be in writing and received by WSRC on or before September 30, 2001. The requested statement should be sent to Westinghouse Savannah River Company, Attn. James E. McDonald, Procurement and Materials Management Department, Building 730-4B, Room 2149, Aiken, South Carolina 29808, telephone (803) 952-6085. Comments and requests for additional information will be accepted via electronic mail sent to james.mcdonald@srs.gov and via facsimile at (803) 952-6095. All responses should be received by September 30, 2001. This is a request for expression of interest and capability only, and is not a request for a formal proposal.
