Description

Reconstruction of approximately 3.64 miles of the Tunnel Ridge Road,including adjacent parking areas, on the Stanton Ranger District of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Powell County, Kentucky. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and incidental supplies necessary to complete the work in accordance with the specifications and plans. The work includes, but is not limited to: 1) Clearing and grubbing; 2) Removal of existing structures; 3) Drainage excavation; 4) Roadbed reconditioning; 5) Placing crushed aggregate on roadbed; 6) Installation of culverts; 7) Installation of guardrail; 8) Construction of a stone masonry wall; 9) Construction of concrete drop inlet catch basins; 10) Seeding and mulching; and 11) Installation of a gate. There will be a pre-bid meeting/site visit scheduled for June 29, 2001. The Contractor shall have 140 calendar days to complete the project after receiving a notice to proceed. NAIS Code 234110, Highway and Street Construction applies to this project. This project is being solicited using the Invitation for Bid format on an unrestricted basis; there are no set-asides.
