- Description
- The USDA, Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS), Science and Technology (S&T), Manassas, VA, intends to procure sampling kits for obtaining and shipping drinking water samples to Pesticide Data Program laboratories. Submit faxed quotations to "Purchasing Section," at (612) 370-2136. QUOTATIONS ARE DUE JUNE 15, 2001, BY 10:00 a.m. local time. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-23. Applicable FAR clauses are incorporated by reference: Prompt Payment 52.249-1 (4/84); Fixed price 52.243-1 (8/87); Price Evaluation Adjustment for Small Disadvantaged Business Concern 52.249-1; Notice of Price Evaluation preference for HUB Zone Small Business Concern 52.219-4; Evaluation-Commercial items 52.212-2 (10/97); Offeror Representations and Certifications 52.212-3 ((1-/98); Contract Terms and Conditions- Commercial Items 52.212-4 (4/98); Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items 52.212-5 (10/98). ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT A QUOTATION FOR CONSIDERATION. All offers must be signed. Offers should include tax payer identification number__________________________ DUNS number__________________ and business size ___________________for SIC ______. SPECIFICATIONS: Supply various water treatment facilities with a kit containing all of the supplies necessary for obtaining and shipping finished drinking water samples to our laboratories. The samples must be kept cool during shipping and each sampling event will produce 3, 1-liter bottles of water. The kit must contain a pre addressed shipping label for overnight delivery service to our laboratory. Water sampling kit will contain: 1 each insulated shipping box; 4-6 each freeze packs; 3 each amber glass sampling bottles with Teflon-coated caps. Bottles to be certified for pesticide analyses to meet US EPA analyte specifications. 3 each foam sleeve, for protection of glass bottles during shipping; 3 each labels for sample identification; 1 each packing tape for shipping; 1 each sample instructions for USDA protocol, to be provided to vendor for distribution; 1 each self-sealing plastic bag for documentation. Sampling kits will be sent out twice a month to approximately 24 sites in 2 states; addresses and schedule will be provided by USDA. Every two weeks one site will be designated as a quality control site, at which time 2 additional kits will be needed by the water treatment facility. The contractor shall manage the shipping of the kits to ensure the samples get sent to the lab. This requirement is for one year with a one-year option to renew.
