- Description
- The Federal Correctional Complex at Beaumont, Texas is requesting offers for the purchase of refuse removal equipment to include the following: Six (6) thirty five yard compactors; Six (6) power units for the compactors; One (1) forty cubic yard open top container; One (1) twenty cubic yard open top container. This solicitation is a firm-fixed price, commercial item, single award contract. The following information will serve as the solicitation and no other information will be sent out unless specifically requested by calling or faxing a request to one of the above listed numbers. The minimum generic requirements of this equipment are as follows: 35 yard compactors -- to be utilized on a standard roll-off truck of modern manufacture. Length=284"; Height=106"; Weight=9850#(estimate), Color=blue. All components of the system are to be scraped and ground and free of sharp edges. 1/4" tensile plate housing sides; 1/2" tensile plate housing floor. Hopper width=60"; Hopper/Ram Length=34". Ram Height=30.5"; ram penetration=6'into container; ram construction-3.5" plates with 3/4" stiffener plates, 1/4" tensile plate bottom. Height from ground to top of Ram box=48-5/8". 1.33 cubic yard WASTEC rated charge box. 45 degree dog box with cellar doors. Diamond plate walk on platform w/2000# rating, 10ga. Safety rail and kick plate. Magnetic door interlock switch/mounted. Two (2) fire ports installed, one on each side, near top, centered 3" diameter steel pipe flange with screw in plastic removal plug. 15' guide rails with container stops. 7ga floor with 3" channel frame. 6x2x1/4 tube rails, 36.5" I.D. Solid steel bullnose, hooks on both ends. Hooks shall be 1-1/4" high tensile steel, inserted through 1" hook plate, locked in, and full welded both sides. Hook and hook plate must carry a lifetime guarantee. 4" diameter rollers, 6" long. Four (4) 8" diameter heavy duty wheels. 7ga container bulkhead formed for rigigity. 7ga door framed with 6x3 tube. Four slotted hinges with grease fittings. Fully gasketed door with dual rachet system. Tested and certified water tight. Warranty-3 yrs structure and cylinder, 1 yr components, 6 months labor. Price will include delivery of all components to FCC Beaumont. Remote power unit for compactor-10hp motor, 1800rpm, T.E.F.C. tri voltage 208/230/460 three phase, 60Hz. 110 volt control circuit, NEMA 12-13 enclosures for control panel and start-stop station designed to meet drip, dust, oil, and rust resistant tests. Automatic cycle, turn key selector switch to start position, Ram extends, retracts, and stops automatically. Ram cylinders 5" bore, 2.5" chromed rod, 40" stroke. Vane type hydraulic pump at 11.5gpm total nominal and protected with a check valve. 3000 psi rated valves. 25 gallon hydraulic reservoir with vent cap, fluid indicator, and external spin-on filter on the suction line. Total ram force of 42200# minimum. The start/stop station will include 3/4 and 100% full lights, will shut down system with override pack out pressure to clear hopper. The power unit shall be completely self-contained and come complete and come complete with 8' hoses and quick disconnect type couplings. The operators control station shall be attached to the power unit through a 15' electric cable for remote use. The compactor shall accomplish a complete cycle with the use of an electric timer. The compactor ram shall reverse and shut down through means of a pressure sensor. All of the hydraulic connections on the compactor will be bulkhead style mounted and teed to both sides to enable power unit to operate from either side of unit. Breaker bar shall be equiped with retainer teeth to minimize refuse spill back into the charging chamber. Warranty-3 yr structure and cylinder; 1 yr components; 6 month labor. 40 cubic yard open top container-length=24'5"; width=8'; height=8'9"; weight=8200#(est), color=blue. Floor shall be 7ga plate and shall have 3" structural channel on 18" spacing. Rails shall be one piece, 2"x6"x1/4" structural tube, no splits or joints. Minimum 1-1/4" thick solid steel bullnose inserted into rail for added strength, not just butt welded on outside of tube, bullnose is to be double tapered for easier loading, and has socket for rollover shaft to assure integrity of rollover system. Gussetts on every other cross member shall be 3/16" plate. Both ends of unit to have hook and hook plate. Hook shall be 1-1/4" high tensile steel, inserted through 1" hook plate, locked in, and full welded both sides. Hook and hook plate must carry lifetime guarantee. Sides shall be 7ga plate and have bottom side plate full welded to floor plate on outside with an outside gusset. Door ahall have horizontal and vertical 2x6x3/16" structural tubes, and all tubes shall be one piece, no splits or joints. Door plate shall be 7ga. Hinges shall be machined sleeves and cold rolled alloy shafts. Four hinges per side. The cam locking system shall be semi-automatic slammer type ratchet cam binder with 1-1/4" thick steel cams and 1/2 posi-lock keepers on the door. All areas of stress shall be reinforced and double welded. One seven inch ratchet binder mounted on the hinge side of the container at the bottom of the door with 3/4" round that loops on the door to give a water type seal. Full gasket door with ram shield for added weather protection. Water test certified to 18" high. All components of system are to be scraped and ground free of any sharp edges. Warranty-3yr structure and cylinder; 1 yr components; 6 month labor. Price will include delivery of all components to FCC Beaumont. 20 Yard Open Top Container-excluding the size of the container, all specifications for the 20 yard container are identical to the 40 yd container. The Governmet will make award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to this solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government. The proposed cost or price must include all associated charges, fees, and delivery charges to Beaumont, Texas. Contractor must delivery this equipment within forty five (45) days from date of award.
