Description
The U. S. Department of Commerce, Aircraft Operations Center, intends to contract with Amphibians Plus in Bartow, Florida for repair of damages to an aircraft. The Government will procure the required jigs, equipment, and expertise to repair crash damages to a Lake Manufactured Aircraft N65RF, SN127, Tach/TT 1252.1, Model LA 250-2 Renegade. The aircrat crashed and was recovered by Amphibians Plus who has disassembled and inspected it for the extent of damages. The repairs will correct damages to the Left and Right Wing, Nose Gear Doors, Left Hand Float, Right Hand Float, Hull and other areas. The current damages exceed the allowable limits set out in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, Parts 27 and 43 for airworthiness. Because the aircraft has been partially disassembled, it seems impractical to transport the aircraft to the factory for repairs. This would involve additional distance and time to reassemble the aircraft to make it safe for transporting. The Contractor shall provide all equipment and labor necessary to repair the aircraft. The Contractor shall also provide for crating and shipping to their facility. NAICS code 811310 applies. This is a 100% small business set-aside. Interested sources must submit a capabilities statement indicating their ability to perform this type of repair. The capabilities statement must also state the company name, address, telephone number, contact person, and the name of the Government agency, contact person, and telephone number for whom previous work has been performed. The Contractor must have experience in the repair of same make and model aircraft. The Contractor must submit a copy of the FAA Repair Station Certificate. This information must be submitted to Mamie L. Wandick at the address listed or sent by facsimile to (816) 426-7530 within 15 calendar days of this notice. Interested parties who fail to submit this information will be considered non-responsive to this announcement.
