- Description
- This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). SPECIFICATIONS FOR FOCUS BENCHTOP OPTICAL COMPARATOR Quantity required: 1 each * Manufacturer: Optical Gaging Products Inc. for a focus controur projector: 10x20 & 50x magnification, projectron auto edge detect, digital screen protractor, smartcheck with pc, matched pair of 2" v-blocks and 5" staging centers, glass radius and angle chart, motorized 12" x worktable These specifications are for an optical comparator having all-steel design and telecentric optics. It will be configured to be capable of fully automated operation with joystick-controlled motorized worktable, selectable projection lenses, Projectron internally mounted automatic edge detection, and provided with an integrated computer driving SmartCheck software allowing automated procedures to be simply stored and reproduced after operator example run. Measurements shall be shown in realtime on LCD displays and can be stored by the computer on a file in a 3.5" removable floppy disk. Details: 7Screen: at least 16" diameter, with at least 14" viewing area. Ground glass screen with 90 degree centerlines and clips for mounting standard 14" glass overlay radius and angle protractor chart 152591. Screen rotation protractor with +/- 360 degrees motion, vernier with 1' resolution. 7Optics: telecentric optical system with corrected image, underscreen Fresnel lens, magnifications selectable at 10X, 20X, and 50X using a 3 position manual lens turret with automatic magnification sensing 7Illumination: 100 W direct projection illuminator with green filter and adjustable collimator, 250W coaxial internal surface illumination 7X travel: at least 12" motorized positioning using precision ball slides with variable speed joystick and fine adjustment knob 7Y travel: at least 5" motorized positioning using precision ball slides with variable speed joystick and fine adjustment knob 7Focus travel: at least 1.5" with precision fine adjustment capability 7Working clearance: held constant to at least 3.5" 7Worktable: Hardcoat anodized aluminum, at least 17.75" x 4.25", 45 lb load capacity, fixturing slots integrated into surface, linear XY accuracy within 0.00035" total band over full travel at thermally stable 68 degrees F. 7Measurement scales: 0.00004" resolution or better on both X and Y scales 7Fixtures: Matched pair of 5" carbide tipped staging centers no. 421913, matched pair of 2" horizontal v-blocks no. 421902, rotary staging vise no. 421909 NASA/GRC intends to purchase the item from Optical Gaging Products, Inc. THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE. The required items will be used in a continuation of test previously performed at NAS/GRC use of an alternate products could compromise test results. We are currently utilizing a large database generated on OGP comparators. New test specimens must be measured after testing and the measurement must be consistent with current data. The database would be significantly compromised if an alternate comparator or design were introduced at this time. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis is solely within the discretion of the government. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-24. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 333314 and 500, respectively. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
