Description

This project is a HUBZone set aside in accordance with FAR 19.1305(a). Contractors MUST be HUBZone certified through the Small Business Administration at the time of the bid opening -- pending certifications will not be accepted. Contractors will provide all labor, materials, tools and expert supervision to perform a total renovation of the MICU and CCU areas of the VA Medical Center, 1601 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70146. The is a phasing project -- with the MICU area taking 365 days and the CCU 270 days for completion. The contractor will also be required to provide up to a 6 week period for acceptance and activation of the MICU area before theywould be allowed access to the CCU area for demolition. This would not be a part of the construction time. Replacement of the HVAC system is required for the CCU area. The VA Medical Center will hold a Pre-Bid Conference on Tuesday July 10th, 2001 @ 10:00 a.m., Bldg #2, Room 405. Solicitations will be issued on or about June 15, 2001. The procurement is subject to the availablilty of funds and a 120 day bid acceptance period is manatory. Bid opening is scheduled for July 19, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., same location as the Pre-Bid Conference. All request for bidding documents must be in writing and accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $100.00. Acceptable forms of deposit are: Cashier's Checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks and Company Checks. There will only be only 25 sets of drawings available and bid documents will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. Construction Range is $1M -- $5M. The NAICS is 233320; $27.5 M is the size standard.
