Description

The work required under this solicitation consists of rehabilitation of the Pressure Regulating Valve (PRV) for Unit N1 with options to rehabilitate the similar PRV for Unit N2 at the Hoover Powerplant located near Boulder City, Nevada and 32 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, in Clark County, Nevada and Mohave County, Arizona. The powerplant contains 19 hydroelectric units. The N1 and N2 PRVs were manufactured by S. Morgan Smith. The principal components of the work to be performed under the specifications are as follows: (1) pre-shutdown measurements; (2) installation of four pressure gauges; (3) pre-teardown measurements including instrumentation and recording devices; (4) measurements of components during disassembly (5) examination and report of component condition, corrosion and damage (6) refurbishment or replacement of critical bushings or sliding surfaces (7) refurbishment of bushings in linkages (8) record refurbished dimensions for all refurbished components (9) refurbishment of seats and sealing surfaces (10) record dimensions of seats and sealing surfaces (11) refurbishment of check valves and flow control valves (12) repair of cavitated surfaces in the energy dissipation chamber (13) repair of cavitated surfaces in the nozzle (14) coating of the energy dissipation chamber (15) coating of the inner body of the PRV (16) coating of the exterior surfaces of the PRV (17) lubrication and refurbishment of all lube fittings, tubing and lubrication channels (18) refilling dashpot with oil (19) readjust all linkages to operational positions (20) test operation of PRV without water after turbine assembly (21) test operation of PRV after watering up the turbine. The estimated cost range of this project is $2,000,001 to $2,500,000. The NAICS code is 332911 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation is unrestricted.
