Description

ADVANCED HAZARDOUS MATERIAL (HAZMAT) RAPID IDENTIFICATION, SORTING, AND TRACK (AHRIST) PHASE II DEMONSTRATION EoI/RFI-XXX The HQDLA J-381 Business Development & Supply Chain Integration Office located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and DLA Operations Research and Resource Analysis Office (DORRA) located at Richmond, Virginia, will be issuing an Expression of Interest/Request for Information(EoI/RFI) in approximately 14 days from the issuance of this notice. This EoI/RFI will be seeking interested parties to participate in the AHRIST Phase II Demonstration and Test. Interested parties will be required to submit a proposal in response to the technical information outlined in the EoI/RFI. The AHRIST project is part of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) MICrochip LOGistics (MICLOG) Program. It is a joint R&D effort between the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the Defense Distribution Centers (DDC) focusing on improving DLA's ability to rapidly identify, sort, and track HAZMAT throughout the DLA supply chain. DLA is planning to host a pre-proposal conference in the June 2001 timeframe. The conference will provide details of this program, its mission and objectives, and how interested parties can become involved as an active participant on the AHRIST project within the MICLOG Program. This notice does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. This notice should not be construed as a commitment by the Government, an authority to enter negotiations to award a contract, or a cause for reimbursement for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. Participation is strictly voluntary. The date, time and location of the conference will be provided in the EoI/RFI.
