Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, intends to award a contract to Clemson University to perform synthesis of perfluorocyclobutane-containing polymers. The research to be conducted at Clemson will be performed by leading experts in the fields of fluorine chemistry, fluoropolymers for lithium ion batteries and fuel cells, fluoropolymers, and perfluorocyclobutane polymer synthesis. The effort will be based on original discoveries by Clemson researchers who will synthesize the chemicals involved using specially developed techniques. The Clemson effort is part of a joint proposal that was selected by NASA for award under its BAA solicitation NRA-00-GRC-1. The Clemson portion of the award will be made by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. See Notes 22 and 26.
