Description
The F-16 Logistics Operations Division, Radar Section is seeking sources to design and manufacture a Form, Fit, Function, and Interface (F3I) replacement for Low Noise Assembly (LNA) (P/N: 691R748G01). which is a critical component of the Modular Low Power Radio Frequency (MLPRF) Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) of the AN/APG-68 Radar System. The goal is to provide a high reliability LNA to the Air Force while reducing the overall sustainment cost. The Air Force is conducting a Sources Sought survey to determine the interest and capability of potential contractors to participate in a competitive acquisition for a product to replace the current LNA. The respondents are requested to provide information on their line of products that could assist in replacing the existing LNA. This information should include 1)a summary of capabilities and facilities that will allow development and manufacture of a new LNA, and 2)ability to handle and protect classified information. The requested information is for planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be accomplished. However, the Air Force will utilize the information for planning purposes. This is not a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid. All data received in response to this Sources Sought marked or designated as corporate or porprietary information will be fully protected from release outside the government. Upon review of submissions and a feasibility determination, a Best Value acquisition of the new LNA may be conducted. This requirement would entail design of a new LNA assembly and manufacture of up to 1,700 uits over three years to replace the existing LNA. The product should last a minimum of 20,000 run time hours (average) before any failures and have a warranty. The government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Please provide written responses to OO-ALC/LGKE, ATTN: Cheryl Dumas, 6072 Fir Ave, Hill AFB, UT 84056-5820 by 31 July, 2001. A technical data package can be provided upon request.
