- Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to demolish = the existing damaged U.S. Coast Guard Sandy Hook Front Range Light and = construct a new tripod type Front Range Light located approximately one = mile off Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The epoxy coated steel pipe tower legs = shall be filled with 4,000 PSI concrete and driven to an elevation of = minus 85 feet MLW. The top of the piles shall be at elevation plus 24 = feet MLW. The solicitation includes two additional Additive Items = providing for the jacketing of piles and the construction of a scour = mat at two nearby offshore towers. All work on the Base Bid shall be = required to be completed within 90 calendar days after receipt of the = Notice to Proceed. This Invitation for Bids is being issued pursuant to = the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to = both large and small business participation. This project is estimated = between $250,000 and $500,000. The applicable NAICS Code is 234990. The = tentative date for receipt of bids is 19 July 2001. Bid packages will = be available on or about 8 June 2001 at a non-refundable charge of $35. = Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable to Commercial = Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the firm at: 83 Waverly Street, = Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast Guard. All = relevant solicitation documents including specifications and drawings = may be accessed for download for free commencing on the date of issue = at the following website: http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued = under this solicitation shall also be posted on this website. For minority, = women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of = Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and = disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working = capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. = This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. = The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, = performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT = provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. = Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at = prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
