Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior intends to negotiate with and make award on a sole source basis to Claudia Rector for the Office of International Affairs' Partnership for Biodiversity. The contractor shall perform various tasks associated with the Lake Hovsgol National Park Management Improvement Program in Mongolia, working directly with the Park staff, Director and Program members. The Tasks shall be provided during the period June through September 2001, include, but is not limited to the following: Publish english edition of "Wildflower's of Northern Mongolia;" Transmit digital design from book designer in Anchorage to digital printer in Ulaan Baatar; Coordinate implementation of design and printing of book; Determine appropriate print run and monitor quality control during printing; Develop sales, distribution, accounting and investment programs for Program's wildfloower book; Assist Oyumaa in completing a Mongolian edition of the wildflower book; Assist Park in printing Mongolian edition of the wildflower book; Provide technical editing for Visitor Center exhibit text and design; Work cooperatively to redesign interpretive brochures for use as sales items; Assist park in developing interpretive slide shows; Continue programs for information and education for Park visitors and for the local communities; Provide interpretive training for Park employees and possibly interns from the local community; Continue to work with the exhibit design team and local crafts persons to complete design and production of exhibits; Assist the Park with completion of all phases of restoration and preparation of the Visitor Center, including installation of educational exhibits; Continue supporting community-based initiatives that have a direct bearing on approriate land use planning in the Park; Manage the budget for specific Park and community infrastructure work, displays, design and consultancy, etc.; Development and publication of Mongolian language edition of "Wildflowers of Northern Mongolia." Claudia Rector is the Known responsible source (in accordance with FAR 6.302-1) able to provide the required service. No solicitation exists. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. A request for solicitation will not be considered an affirmative response, however, if issuance of a solicitation is determined appropriate, requesting firms will be included on the mailing list. To be considered, all responsible parties must submit faxed data to the Contracting Officer sufficient to determine capability to meet the requirement.
