Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to integrate a system of motors, controllers, computer interface, remote control unit and Microsoft Visual Basic interface into an existing 7 axis scanner system. The requirements are: 1) Motors that fit into existing motor mounts for linear movement and in the current rotators, 2) Control unit to drive motors and required cables, 3) PCI control card for computer, 4) Software interface to operate system with Microsoft Visual Basic software (this ensures compatability with our other measurement systems), 5) Hand held remote control for system, and 6) Manuals and spare parts list. Technical merit as well as price will be used to evaluate offers. As the technical merit becomes more equal, price becomes a greater factor. Procurements under Simplified Acquisition Procedures ($25,000-$100,000) are set-aside for small business unless small business cannot meet the need at a reasonable price.
