Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for items as listed below: ITEM 1: SOC 400 FT-IR SPECTROMETER DESINGATED TO WORK WITH A LINE OF SURFACE OPTICS SURFACE AND POWDER ANALYSIS ACCESSORIES. PART NUMBER: 0400-0000. QUANITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 2: ATTENUATED TOTAL REFLECTANCE HEAD WITH DIAMOND CRYSTAL. PART NUMBER: 0400-1026. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 3: SURFACE IR FOR COLLECTING TEST DATA. PART NUMBER: 0400-5005. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Surface Optics Corporation, 11555 Rancho Bernardo Road, San Diego, CA 92127. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 25, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
