- Description
- TACOM is issuing a Firm Fixed Price Request for Proposal (RFP) to utilize a charter for a High Speed Vessel for a period of 12 months. The charter will have four (4) separately priced options of three-months in duration each. The options will allow the Government to extend the charter by the additional options for a total option time of an additional year. The vessel will conduct a series of limited objective experiments, exercises, demonstrations and training events. The High Speed Vessel must have a minimum speed of 35 knots with cargo of 335 ST for 1,110 nautical miles at sea state 3 and 35 knots with a cargo of 545 ST for 600 nautical miles at sea state 5. The High Speed vessel must be capable of performing the following: 1. Launch and recover small boats in sea state 3. 2. Ramp with 35ST capacity 3. Have a maximum overall length of 400 feet and a draft of 15ft when fully loaded. 4. Launch and recover rotary wing aircraft in sea state 3. 5. Provide electrical power of 100kw -- support of Charterer's C4ISR equipment. 6. Hotel services/human support -- 325 passengers plus crew. 7. Provide structural and electrical support of light weight point defense systems. 8. Other required capabilites identifed in the RFP that must be incorporated prior to delivery to the Government. The charter will require 3 Technical representatives. One shall have a master's license, one must hold a chief engineer's license from the U.S. Coast Guard or equivalent licensing body and an approved deck officer "Type Rating". Training will be include in the RFP. Military personnel will crew the High Speed Vessel after delivery to the Government.
