Description

Single award contract, from 7/1/01 to as late as 6/30/04, for various Government agencies. Production is assumed within 100-km (60 miles) of San Francisco, CA. Contract is for quick-schedule color printing of bound and single-sheet products. Contract is for Computer-to-Plate (CTP) color lithographic printing (use of four-color xerographic copiers or electrophotographic toners not permitted): Approx. 2 to 6 (avg. 4) orders per year for approx. 250 to 7,000 (avg. 2,000) saddle-stitched products per order consisting of approx. 8 to 64 (avg. 20) pages per copy; and of approx. 24 to 70 (avg. 50) orders per year for 200 to 7,000 (avg. 2,800) single-sheet products printing one or both sides. Product trim sizes will range from 140 x 216 mm to 483 x 711 mm (5-1/2 x 8-1/2" to 14 x 20"). Required contract operations include copy pickup (including FTP file retrieval), digital output of furnished digital copy, digital proofs, press inspections, Quality Level 2 four-color process printing, binding, folding, labeling, packing, addressing, mailing and complete delivery within one to three workdays after notification of availability of materials for pickup by the contractor. Although use of computer-to-plate means and methods are assumed, this contract does not preclude the conventional use of lithographic films, if the production schedule can consistently be satisfied.
