Description
Provide services to remove the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) existing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), battery rack and batteries. Provide and install a "true" UPS (also known as an "on-line" UPS), new rack, new batteries, and an automated transfer switch. This is a "turn-key" job. Contractors shall supply all tools, labor, and material needed for the demolition and installation without any help from the Government. The Government can supply one forklift and one operator for the demolition and installation effort. All other rigging and labor shall be provided by the contractor. The contractor shall train maintenance technicians and CCAD Information Technology (IT) personnel. CCAD is located on the Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas. CCAD utilizes an emergency back-up power supply consisting of a diesel generator, heavy duty switch-gear, cabling, UPS and batteries to support three computer centers. The Emerson Acupower UPS has failed and requires replacement. The UPS is powered by 184 cells (46 C&D battery units (4 cells per unit), model XT4LC-15) for 368 volts and 1.966 kW/cell. The batteries have failed and need replacement. If a power failure is detected, a 400 kW diesel generator comes on-line to supply emergency power. The generator will not be replaced as part of this procurement. Contractor is expected to field verify the geometry, layout and conditions of the rooms where the UPS, batteries, panels, and switch-gear are located. The installation of the contractor system is the sole responsibility of the contractor. The UPS shall be a commercially available item where market acceptance can be demonstrated. The unit shall not deviate from the stocked unit. It shall match the manufacturer's prints, manuals, documentation, etc. To demonstrate market acceptance, the contractor shall document that more than 500 units of the offered model have been sold in the market place. FOB shall be Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas. This acquisition is being processed under the procedures of FAR 13.5. Solicitation to be issued on or about May 30, 2001. Quotes will be due on or about June 15, 2001. Submit inquiries via e-mail to pechols@ccad.army.mil. Glenda Simnacher, Contracting officer, (361)961-3913. This is a written solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered.
