Description
This synopsis is for the procurement of World Geodetic System-1984 (WGS84) airfield survey and support activities in Russia. The work includes making the following necessary arrangements with the Russian authorities: (1) Coordinate with the Customs officials for all necessary paperwork to facilitate the arrival and departure of NIMA-supplied survey equipment, to include GPS receivers; (2) Provide VISA support for the NIMA surveyors; (3) Coordinate access to the airfields (to include scheduling times for survey work, runway access/crossing procedures, access to outside obstructions, picture points, digging permits to monument survey control points, determination of hours airfield will be in use, determination of use of hand-held radios) -- office space at the airfield and security for the surveyors and equipment are also required; (4) Coordinate security for NIMA surveyors at the airfield; (5) Coordinate transportation of NIMA personnel and GPS survey equipment in and around the airfield; (6) Coordinate for an English-Russian interpreter/translator at the survey site; (7) Provide names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail, and fax numbers of airfield officials, escorts, project managers, etc.; (8) Acquire any existing airfield engineering drawings/plan/maps that would facilitate the pre-planning survey activities. Reports shall be provided to NIMA, in English, to include progress on activities, details on who was contacted and their authority within the system, status on where in the approval process NIMA stands, and address any military/civil activities related to the Airfield Initiative. If no work is completed in any one month, the report shall state that no work was completed during that month. Period of Performance: Approximately June through October, 2001. This is a follow-on to previous requirements of identical nature and NIMA intends to make award to DORS, Inc. See Notes 1 and 22.
