Description
The continued operation of the Jacksonville Job Corps Center. Job Corps is a National residential training and employment program adminstered by the Department of Labor to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth ages 16-24 years throughout the United States. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will be a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee contract. The contract will have a two (2) year base period February 1, 2002 through January 31, 2004, plus three (3) governmental unilateral renewal options for one (1) year each. The RFP will be available on our Job Coprs Acquisition page located on the World Wide Web at; http://wdsc.doleta.gov/jobcorps/schedule.html on or about May 24, 2001. The average capacity strength for the center is 250 students of which 150 are residential (75 males and 75 females) and 100 are non-residential (50 males and 50 females). The contractor will provide Career Transition services as part of their Career Transition Period (CTP) to 208 students approximately 130 Graduates and 78 Former enrollees. A Pre-proposal Conference and Site Visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. local time at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center. It is recommended that all potential offerors download the RFP from our World Wide Web site cited above prior to attending the Pre-proposal conference and site visit. All questions prior to and at the pre-proposal conference shall be submitted in writing. The Jacksonville Job Coprs Center is located at 205 West Third Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206, (904) 353-5904. The successful contractor shall provide Academic and Vocational Training, Career Transition Period services, operate Counseling and Residential Living Programs, and provide the following support services; Health services, processing of Student records, a Discipline System, Clothing Issuances, Mail and Legal services. The contractor shall provide overall Center Management and Administration as follows; Contract and Personnel Administration, Staff training, Financial Management, Procurement and Property management, Facility Operations and Maintenance, Security and Safety services, Community Relations and Public Information. Proposals in reposnse to the RFP will consist of an Oral Presentation and a written submission as described in Section L of the RFP. All Written Proposal submissions shall be due no later than Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. local time to the address listed in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
