Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Office of Space Science is releasing an Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the Mars Exploration Program 2005 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Selections of proposals through this AO are intended to provide instruments for an orbital mission to be launched in August of 2005. Facility science teams will also be selected. The science objectives covered by this AO include those in the currently defined Office of Space Science theme of Solar System Exploration. Participation is open to all categories of organizations, foreign and domestic, including industry, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other Government agencies. This AO will be available June 6, 2001, via the World Wide Web site: http://spacescience.nasa.gov/ . A Preproposal conference will be held on or about June 21, 2001 at NASA Headquarters.
