- Description
- F -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA/Construction, Environmental Compliance and Safety Division has a requirement for a contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, supervision, an all other items and services necessary to perform facility asbestos abatement tasks and functions at the National Marine Fisheries Service, Milford Laboratory, 212 Rogers Avenue, Milford, Connecticut. The abatement will be performed over a two week period in the month of June or July, 2001. The abatement comprises the removal of approximately 200 linear feet of pipe insulation in various locations at the facility, 2,700 square feet of asbestos-containing ceiling tile, 100 square feet of asbestos-containing mastic, and removal and decontamination of approximately 40 light fixtures. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: 1) Must be licensed in the state of Connecticut to perform asbestos abatement (Copy of license must be provided); 2) Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and permits; 3) Must have experience in performing asbestos abatements of similar size and complexity; 4) Submission of an Asbestos Abatement Plan (i.e. personal protective equipment and clothing requirements, employee decontamination procedures, air monitoring and sampling procedures, waste storage and disposal procedures); 5) Provide proof of required training, physical examinations, fit testing, and accreditations required regulations; 6) Provide proof of insurance; 7) Provide capability information supporting ability to perform the required services. Qualified applicants are invited to submit a written request for the solicitation package to the address above, to be received no later than fifteen (15) days from date of this notice. At submission of proposal (i.e. labor & materials, etc.), contractors must provide capability information supporting ability to meet the above referenced qualifications.
