Description

DESC: This requirement is for Spare Parts Storage Cabinet, NSN: 4940-01-476-2320. The cabinets will be provided in sets, consisting of one cabinet with small drawers, one cabinet with large drawers, and two cabinets with both drawers and enclosed shelving (see Table I below). The cabinet drawers must be double-hung to permit full access to the drawer interiors. Each drawer must have the capacity to support an evenly distributed load of at least 400 pounds, even when fully extended. The drawer glides must incorporate ball or roller bearings or equally effective friction-reducing devices. The shelves shall be rated for an evenly distributed load of at least 400 pounds each. Each cabinet is to be roughly four feet wide, two feet deep, and five feet high. The cabinets must be provided with drawers, shelves, and partitions within the size limits specified in Table I below). The cabinets must have padlock-secured locking provisions. Each cabinet shall incorporate a mechanical interlock that allows only one drawer to be opened at a time and all cabinet drawers shall be provided with lock-in/lock-out devices. Forklift pockets shall be integrated in each cabinet base, and each cabinet shall be fitted with four permanently attached multipurpose lifting and equipment tiedown provisions conforming to MIL-STD-105. Even when fully loaded the cabinets shall have the durability to withstand being transported by military truck at least 400 miles over rough surfaces, in addition to worldwide commercial transport by air, land, and sea.
