NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) laboratory facility in Morgantown, WV has already purchased a floating license for Fluent software, a computational fluid dynamics program. We now have a need to renew and upgrade the software. After the upgrade is acquired, the full license will consist of 2 serial processes, 1 GAMBIT-only serial process and 6 additional parallel processes. The license will be effective until 9/23/2002. The license will be used on the Sun Enterprise 6000 system which is maintained and operated by NIOSH-OAMS. The Fluent software program is produced only by Fluent, Inc., and has been in use for the past two years at NIOSH. Data has already been calculated with this software and it should be compatible for use in continuing projects. The expansion of the current license will make possible solutions of 3-dimensional geometries that originate from the NIOSH Division of Safety Research's 3D scanner. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Fluent, Inc., Lebanon, NH. Organizations who believe they can provide the required license and upgrade may respond within 7 days after publication of this notice. Responses shall be submitted to: Brenda L.
