Description

AMCOM proposes to acquire support for the acquisition of AH-64A Aircraft unique reliability and safety modifications/ retrofits. This requirement is for 241 AH-64A retrofit kits, supporting documentation, and the installation of up to 75 each of the modifications at Williams Gateway Airport (WGA) from the manufacturer McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Company (MDHC). The basic contract will include the retrofit of up to 75 AH-64A aircraft with options for procurement of the remaining retrofit kits. The nature of this contractual action will be issued a sole source, firm fixed price contract with MDHC. The acquisition includes the following reliability and safety modifications: (1) Engine Cooling Louvers the procurement of 241 retrofit kits and the installation of up to 75 kits at WGA, (2) 176 Frame Upgrade -- the procurement of 241 retrofit kits consisting of a doubler and replacement rivets and the installation of up to 75 kits at WGA, (3) Engine In Flight Power Loss -- the procurement of 241 retrofit kits and the installation of up to 75 kits at WGA, (4) Poppet Valves to procure and install up to 75 redesigned Poppet Valves at WGA and (5) Spider Mounts to procure the installation of up to 75 Spider Mount Kits at WGA. The 75 replacement spider mount kits will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). See Note 22.
