Description
Medical Records Coding Support Services -- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Philadelphia VA Medical Center, has a requirement for Medical Records Coding Support Services. The vendor will provide all personnel, supplies, equipment, computers, software, and supervision, necessary and incident to the provision of off-site medical records coding services. Basic requirements include, but are not limited to, coding validation of diagnosis and procedure code selections to decrease patient billing backlog and optimize revenues, assigning appropriate ICD-9-CM and CPT codes, and data entry into VA Patient Care Encounter computer system to ensure compliance with correct coding initiative. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with JCAHO, VA, and HCFA regulations. Vendors must be familiar with a variety of medical and surgical specialties in a medical teaching environment to perform coding of clinical documentation according to HFCA guidelines and fee schedule. The services will include whether the record support the billing under the teaching physician guidelines for professiaonal fees. Vendors coding staff must have a minimal of five years coding experience working in a large teaching hospital and outpatient setting having all subspecialities and primary care and physician education. Coding staff must have current credentials of a Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist -- Physician (CCS-P). All responsible sources with the capability to provide off-site Medical Records Coding Services are invited to submit in writing, sufficient information that demonstrates their ability to fulfill this requirement. Responses must contain descriptive literature in sufficient detail to permit technical evaluation and include capability and past performance data, a point of contact (name and telephone #) and if applicable, Federal (GSA/FSS) contract number and pricing. All responses received will be fully considered. A request for a copy of the Solicitation or RFP will be deemed non-responsive as no solicitation document exists. Information received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is soley within the discretion fo the Government.
