Description

This solicitation is to secure services for a complete set of services to accomplish stand treatments related to: 1) the reduction of stand density (commercial thinning); 2) reduction of standing fuel ladders (whipfelling of small trees); 3) retention of the largest, healthiest trees; 4) removal of small sawlog material; and 5) treatment of slash created by vegetation management activities. This contract also requires road maintenance and erosion control activities associated with commercial product removal necessary for soil and water resource protection. The contractor shall develop a plan to accomplish resource objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel need to accomplish the work. The contractor shall furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the work required. Contractor shall also execute the associated Timber Sale. Maps will be available May 14, 2001. Prospective offerors are encouraged to view the site at their convenience. The solicitation will issue on June 20, 2001. The project is located on Baker Ranger District, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, Baker County, Oregon. The estimated start work date is October 1, 2001. See Note 1.
