Description
The Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission System (PM DCATS), Fort Monmouth, NJ is conducting a market survey to determine the commercial availability of a 5 MHz Distribution Amplifier. The Amplifier will be used for the generation and distribution of timing signals, reference frequencies and clocking signals to various multiplexers and modems within the Digital Communications Satellite Subsystem (DCSS) at Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) earth terminals. The 5 MHz Distribution Amplifier shall be capable of providing any combination of RS-422 TTL, 50 Ohm BNC, or transformer coupled 100 Ohm Twinax outputs up to a minimum total of (twenty five) outputs. The output should be variable from 23 dBm to -- 33 dBm (3V -- 10V PP). The Distribution Amplifier shall also have the capability of accepting two input signals for frequency distribution. If one of the inputs is lost, the Amplifier shall automatically select the second available input. The Distribution Amplifier shall generate the desired frequency and signal type from a variety of input signals or internal frequency source and have the necessary noise immunity and drive capability to interface a frequency standard or other signal source through the distribution amplifier to equipment located up to 1000 feet (304.8meters) away. The Distribution Amplifier shall be rack mountable in a standard 19 in rack and operate under temperature requirements from 0 0 C to 50 0 C. Additional requirements include: AC/DC Input Module; AC and DC inputs with automatic switchover AC Input: 115/230 VAC 10% @ 50 Hz to 60 Hz DC Input: 22 to 57 VDC @ 5 A max Positive or negative ground Alarm Output: Form C relay contacts PM DCATS expects to procure up to of 150 units by 1st quarter FY02. Any interested sources with suitable equipment must send technical information, to include, but not be limited to, detailed product specification, available test data, schedule availability and cost information, to Bldg. 209, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-ST-SE-ST (Johnny Ng), Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703. Contractors shall also include information on any open DOD contractual vehicles for the subject equipment, to include GSA schedules.
