- Tyndall AFB intends to award the following items via sole source requirement to National Fire Protection Association of Quincy, Ma. for the following item: Automatic Sprinkler Program Seminar: the seminar will include : Instruction on fire safety standards, education, and training in accordance with NFPA 13 Automatic Sprinkler System. The seminar will include new format and are requirements of the restructured NFPA 13, and will teach employees to verify proper installation and use of sprinkler systems. Sprinkler system components, system types, installation requirements, water supply and design approaches, and introduction and sprinkler system inspection,testing and maintenance will be addressed during the seminar. Life Safety Code Seminar: the seminar targets end users, authorities having jurisdiction,building officials, manufacturers, installer-maintainers, insurance company representatives, and fire investigators that require introduction or refresher training of life safety code fundamentals. Building service and fire protection equipment, interior finish, contents, and furnishings, business occupancies, assembly occupancies and hotel and dormitories occupancies will be addressed during all sessions. The seminar will also include: Review of fundamental requirements applied to health care occupancies Understand Code requirements for effective egress designs in health care occupancies Identify code requirements related to fire protection features in health care occupancies Distinguish unique fire alarm, detection, and automatic sprinkler systems features used in health care occupancies Apply alternative approaches to life safety for health care occupancies utilizing the Fire Safety Evaluation System (FSES)_NFPA 101A Define differences between medical office buildings and ambulatory health care occupancies FIRE ALARM CODE SEMINAR: the seminar includes Alarms are the first line of defense against fire and the National Fire Alarm Code contains all the critical requirements on the installation, maintenance, and use of the full range of protective signaling systems. This unit provides an overview of the Code structure and gives participants the background they need to comply effectively with Code requirements. How to use resources contained within model building codes, model fire prevention codes, enabling legislation, and other jurisdictional requirements The seminar will also include: Choosing the Right Fire Alarm System for a Particular Occupancy Choosing the Equipment for the Fire Alarm System Developing Appropriate Specifications Developing Appropriate System Design Properly Installing the System Properly Testing the System Properly Maintaining the System Properly Using the System All seminars will be held on a government site to be determined by the Government.
