Description

In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the USDA, National Finance Center intends to issue on a sole source basis, to Sterling Software Inc. for the maintenance and support services for government owned software Direct (COMBO) MVS, Direct MVS Activity Reporting System for use on CPU IBM 9672/R56, or Direct AIX -- Package which includes SNA, TCP/IP, 20 users, 20 sessions, 20 GUI's, Direct Windows NT Base Server -- TC/PIP for use on CPU IBM 7017-S7A and for Direct Windows NT Base Server -- TC/PIP for use on CPU-PC. This requirement is a follow-on for work currently being performed by the contractor. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. It is the intent of the government to enter to a contract for one base year and two option years, which will be exercised each year pending availability of funds. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested firms have until May 21, 2001 to submit in writing their capabilities/qualifications to USDA, National Finance Center, Contract Support Group, 13800 Old Gentilly Road, New Orleans, LA 70129, ATTN: Freddie Moses, Contract Specialist at (504)255-5911 or via email at freddie.moses@usda.gov. A termination not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Since no solicitation document exists, responses received after May 21, 2001 or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive and will not be accepted. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
