Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of an upgraded Remote Monitoring System currently in operation at ARL, APG. A detailed component listing will be included in the RFQ. This upgrade to the existing system includes installation of cabling and mounting hardware on 30 foot towers, staging, and training. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 with Security Services and Technologies (SST), Norristown, PA. It has been determined that this company has the necessary expertise, facilities, resources, and skills to meet the government's requirements and reduce unnecessary facility downtime as the existing system was designed, manufactured, and installed by SST. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
