- Potential Sources Sought. -- This publication serves as a notice of intent to procure, on a sole-source source basis, with Crosby and its distributors for the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard Yard, to provide brand name Crosby jaw and jaw turnbuckles with locknuts, Crosby p/n HG-228, stock no. 1032974, wll 21,400 lbs., 276 each; p/n HG-228, stock no. 1033036, wll 28,000 lbs., 24 each; NSN 4030-00-369-3993, Crosby Forge screw pin shackles, NSN 4030-00-373-1327, Crosby p/n G-209, stock no. 1018632, 48 each; stock no. 1018614, 192 each; wire rope sling assemblies, various diameters and lengths, 300 each. The government is seeking qualified sources that can provide this material. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source solicitation will be issued for this item unless additional qualified sources are located. All responsible and responsive sources are invited to express their interest. It is the government's belief that only Crosby and its distributors can provide the said material. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can submit data discussing the same in duplicate within eight (8) days from the date of this announcement. No cost or pricing data is required. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The government does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Responses must be concise and be specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Concerns that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet the requirements. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered material: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability and compatibility of the material, or 2) data that the offered material and parts have been satisfactorily manufactured for the government or the original equipment manufacturer. Adequately detailed data by which to evaluate the capabilities should be sent to the attention of Janice L. Sprouse, Contract Specialist (CODE 044/43). ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
