Description

The project consists of nourishing approximately 1600 feet of beach in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, located on the western limits of Michigan City, Indiana. In addition, the project will include sand monitoring activities such as aerial photography, survey profiles and sediment samples. The nourishment will be accomplished by trucking or barging in approximately 25,000 tons of sand from upland sources and constructing a sand berm along the beach. Three additives of an additional 5000, 5000, and 5000 tons, respectively, will be exercised depending on availability of funds. The estimated cost range is between $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. Solicitation documents will be available on or about 29 May 2001 and Bid Opening Date is 28 June 2001 at 2:00 PM EST. This project is available by downloading from the Internet only.
