NOUN: Augmentor Nozzle Segment-Balance; NSN: 2840-01-308-4466NZ; P/N: 4070067; QTY: 112; U/I: Each DELIVERY: DEC01 to Tinker AFB, OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100PW229 Engine. SIZE/DIMENSIONS: approximately 11.5 Inches long X 5.8 inches wide X 1.5 inches thick; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: Cast Titanium; FORM/FIT/ FUNCTION: Balance segments pivot with the convergent Nozzle segment, counter-balancing the exhaust pressure and Stabilizing the position of the convergent segments. Anticipated Solicitation issue date: 25MAY01. Anticipated award date: 25JUN01. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract Award, offerors must be approved sources. The solicitation will contain instructions for further information regarding this requirement. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source Will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Government Furnished drawings are not available. TO: Pratt and Whitney, East Hartford, CT. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or Potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor Concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict Confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate In the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
