Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR ENHANCMENTS TO AN EXISTING PRECISION LOW FREQUENCY, HIGH POWER SATELLITE CALIBRATION SYSTEM. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to award on a sole source basis a contract for the design, manufacturing and/or purchase and characterization of a radio frequency, circularly polarized antenna feed and associated hardware. This equipment shall compliment the existing NRL calibration system at the 48-meter antenna site in Palo Alto, CA. The requirement shall include, but is not limited to, purchase or design and build a feed to compliment the SatCal system according to the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) Rook Requirements Specification. Perform and document a thorough calibration of gain of the 48-meter antenna system and purchase or fabricate the associated switches, hybrids, couplers etc. necessary to meet the operational and performance requirements stated in the Requirements Specifications. Vendors who feel that they can provide the above services shall fully identify their interest and submit their capabilities to meet the above requirements within 15 days after publication of this synopsis. Responses received after 15 days or without the required information shall be considered to be non-responsive to the synopsis and not be considered. Numbered Note 22 applies to this procurement.
