Description

Repair Indoor Range, Bldg 741. To repair indoor range, the contractor shall remove and replace the middle two rows of deflector plates. Size and configuration of new plates shall match existing plates. There are 21 deflector plates per row resulting in 42 plates to be replaced. The plates shall be "armor plate" steel ASTM A514 Grade B. The contractor shall weld the deflector plates within each row to one another. All exposed edges of the deflector plates shall be chamfered to a 45-degree angle to continuous "v" weld 4 mm minimum in width. The contractor shall provide a certified welder who will execute the welding of the deflector plates to one another. Other work as detailed in solicitation statement of work. Performance Period 30 days Bid opening date 26 Jun 2001 2:00 p.m. The approximate issue/response date will be 24 MAY 2001. The anticipated award date will be 26 Jun 2001. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
