Description

The Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of GSA sources to perform presort house services for the Denver, Columbus, and Indianapolis locations. GSA contractors with the capability to provide presort house services are requested to submit an e-mail to both: john.ziu@dfas.mil and william.mehr@fms.treas.gov addressing the following questions: 1. Are you a national company? Are you one company that can perform this service in all of these locations (Columbus, Indianapolis, Denver)? 2. If you cannot perform this service in all three locations, which of these locations can you perform this service in? 3. Please provide a list of some of your customers. Do you have any Government customers, or all commercial? May we contact some of your customers for references? 4. Have you ever mailed any secure documents, such as checks, bonds, etc.? 5. How is your facility secured? Are there separate areas of your facility that can be secured off from the other areas? If you had to hold secure documents over night, how would you ensure their security? 6. What type of background checks do you perform as part of your selection and hiring process? At a minimum, we are going to require every employee to sign and submit to us, a statement attesting to whether or not they have ever been arrested or have a criminal background. Will that be a problem with your company? 7. What is the volume of mail that you process yearly and daily? Our mailings will cover multi-state areas and cannot be held in your shop for more than 24 hours. Will you have the volumes to be able to obtain delivery -- point 5 and 3-D discounts under those conditions? 8. Will the local USPS provide transportation to pick-up large volumes of checks at your sites? Will you be ready on short notice to make all necessary USPS arrangements to proceed with this contract? 9. Can you express mail us an information packet today?
